I am not comfortable letting the kids run around the wineries when they are open – so the park was the perfect solution for an afternoon of fresh air and play! The day before had been a lot of driving and then we had a big rainstorm that night – so the kids were antsy to get some energy out. It was a great place to stay for a night!Īfter a night at the winery in Ohio, we headed to another winery in Pennsylvania that also is part of Harvest Hosts. On the way we decided to stop off at a local park and let the kids run around at the playground. they have a bunch of vines planted in the background. This winery had a beautiful gazebo next to the grapes. The next morning we had a glorious double rainbow. and we had the whole place to our selves (except one other RV with Harvest Hosts).we had a crazy rain storm and then the most magnificent sunset! Jeremy and I took turns going into the winery and doing a $3 tasting – what a treat! And we purchased a bottle of wine. I won’t mention the name because it’s part of having the membership – but it was delightful. We had a nice big pull-through spot at the winery with a grassy area and picnic table. Our first night we stopped at a winery in Ohio. We LOVE this concept – because we love supporting local businesses and we think it’s great fun to spend our money on food or drink instead of “rent” at a campground. Or you can volunteer, perhaps helping with a harvest or another need at the business! And in exchange for a spot to park for the night, you support the local business – perhaps by purchasing wine, vegetables/fruit, souvenirs. We decided this would be a great time to use our Harvest Host membership! For $44/year, a Harvest Host membership allows you to stay for FREE at local wineries, farms and other small businesses. As we looked at our campground options, along our route, we weren’t seeing much – and the ones that looked convenient were completely booked due to Labor Day weekend! We try not to drive more than a few hours a day (we are all happier when we follow this rule), so we figured we’d need to stop one night in Ohio and one in Pennsylvania on our way to Niagara Falls. There was a slight sense of urgency because we wanted to spend some time in New York – and then jump over to the east coast before the colder fall weather. Follow us on Instagram to find out where we are currently!Īfter spending a lot of time in Michigan our next “destination” would be Western New York to see Niagara Falls and to spend some time with my cousin near Rochester. Instead of taking our time, like we did in Michigan, we wanted to move a little quicker through the next couple states. It should note public lands, free pull offs and scenic byways.I’m a bit behind in blogging about our adventures– this is from our travels around September 5-6, 2015. Look for a map with 2-3 pages per state – you want one that REALLY gets in there. You might think it’s dumb to drop $35 on a paper map in the age of GPS and GoogleMaps, but this will save you! When you want privacy, that’s a good thing. There are so many slivers of public land that don’t make the internet. This is my go-to site for camping on the road. Tent, overlanding jeeps, and car camping aren’t allowed. Harvest Hosts is only available to self contained vehicles (RVs and campervans). Stays are limited to one night, making Harvest Host locations THE BEST way to overnight while enroute to your destination. This is an inexpensive way to camp at AMAZING sites that aren’t available to the general public. Harvest Hosts is a site that allows you to stay at cool places (vineyards, museums, farms, distilleries) for free after paying a small yearly membership fee. Looking ahead, we are more optimistic for stocks in 2023. By year-end, Wall Street firms such as Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were announcing layoffs. The turmoil in the marketplace posed a challenge for Wall Street firms, as investment returns were dismal, the IPO market dried up, and M&A activity disappeared. Bond returns weren't much better, as spiking inflation pushed long-term interest rates higher and the Federal Reserve raised short-term rates to try to bring inflation under control. The number of double rub cycles achieved before two yarn breaks occur or noticeable wear is observed is recorded as the fabrics abrasion rating. Individual test specimens cut from the warp and weft direction are then rubbed back and forth using an ACT approved #10 cotton duck fabric* as the abradant. A Wyzenbeek machine is used for this test allowing samples of the test fabric to be pulled tight in a frame and held stationary. TEST METHODS ASTM D4157-02 Oscillatory Cylinder (Wyzenbeek) The ASTM D4157-02 is a test of the American Society of Testing and Materials. There is no correlation between the Wyzenbeek and Martindale tests so it is not possible to estimate the number of cycles that would be achieved on one test if the results from the other test were known. Durability of an upholstery fabric is a complex interaction (combination) of a number of performance tests that, in addition to abrasion, includes seam slippage, pilling, tensile strength, and usage. Actual performance is determined by many factors such as fiber content, weaves, finishes, furniture design, maintenance, cleaning, and usage. The Wyzenbeek and Martindale tests are the two methods commonly used to predict wear-ability. Higher abrasion resistance does not necessarily indicate a significant extension of the service life of the fabric. It is strongly suggested that double rubs exceeding 100,000 are not meaningful in providing additional value in use. End use examples that may require higher than 30,000 double rubs include: 24 hours transportation terminals, 24 hour telemarketing, 24 hour healthcare emergency rooms, 24 hour casino gambling areas, and such public gathering places as theatres, stadiums, lecture halls and fast food restaurants. General Guidelines for Commercial Upholstered Furniture: If you are in need of a more durable outdoor fabric that can also be used for indoor upholstery, we recommend a High Performance Indoor-Outdoor Fabric from Sunbrella, Bella-Dura and Covington. These selections are not intended for normal indoor furniture upholstery as they are not constructed to withstand the abrasion of regular use. General Guidelines for Residential Upholstered Furniture: A double rub rating applicable to fabric used for upholstery is obtained from an industry test that measures fabric resistance to typical abrasion that is expected from the use of upholstered furniture. Manufactured with the highest standards of luxury in mind, these fabrics are guaranteed to deliver the perfection you would expect.A double rub rating is not applicable to a fabric used for bedding, curtain, drapery or other applications where the fabric is not subjected to abrasion. I'm willing to also do so for all the elderly, teenage, and young adults as well, because I'm pretty sure if I want respect I have give it! I love this whole-heartily and I want to convince you that this is not a bad place, it's good and will make an impact on your life and your daughters/sons life.Owner and program director, Kelly (Samford) Halcomb has called Duluth home since 1980. I'm an athlete and a training coach there and if it wasn't for Elite I wouldn't be on the way to a decent paying job, graduating in 19 days, and learning how to become a young lady who knows how to hold herself to proper manners and ways of speaking to people and learning to be a good influence in any young athletes life, actually in any young child's life period. They have to make hard decisions for the safety of you and your child's feelings, health, and anything else you could think about. For that being said why would they treat there costumers like dirt? Exactly they wouldn't. Like any business, Elite has struggles and without the loving supporting costumers that appreciate what they have offered their children, they wouldn't be where they are today. These coaches don't make your child cry purposely, if anything they care for your child more than themselves and would do anything to protect your sons/daughters well-being. Most new young athletes have never had discipline in the field of sports, and most learn to develop those skills. Now to speak on the note that people are saying that children always come home crying. Something my coaches told me, " Nothing is handed to you on a silver platter, you must work to gain your skills!" This could also apply to you (the parent) if you would keep up on your bills like you would for your home or your cellphone you wouldn't constantly be hassled. Yes money is what people are all about but anywhere you go nothings just handed to you. They also have tutoring for your child and camps for them when there not in school. So why wouldn't you want your child in an atmosphere like this. You meet a lot of nice people and as soon as your child is placed on a team everyone wants to be there friend. This is a good place to bring your children to help them learn and come out of shells they never knew they had. Hello Reader, I'm Kiana Franklin, and I've been at this pretty much since they've opened and all I love this place to pieces and would never do anything to degrade my gym's name. Trust me, you can not find a better environment for your child! Come give it a try! If you want your child to be nurtured, cared for, taught responsibility, hard work and team etiquette in addition to tumbling and cheer skills, then Elite Cheer and Dance is the place for you. We have tried several other locations over the years and nothing but Elite has come close to challenging or improving her skills! Jon, Nicole, Liz, Michele, Philip, Kory and the rest of the staff bend over backwards to ensure a great experience for everyone, athletes and family members alike. Shane and Bear are the best in the business for tumbling, hands down. This is not a gym, it is a family, and we would not consider going anywhere else for tumbling lessons or competitive cheer. My daughter has been cheering with Elite Cheer and Dance for six years now and there is no other cheer gym in the greater Triangle area that can offer the extensive training, along with the encouragement, love, support and caring that we experience here. “There were some units that involved Autocad that I struggled to complete, and my mentor at Northrop organised another team member with experience with Autocad to help me complete the tasks. “The traineeship required enrolment into the Diploma of Civil Construction Design, but Northrop supported me in completing the Certificate IV first,” Durney says about her early workplace experiences. Her name is derived from the song " They Call the Wind Maria", originally from the 1951 Broadway musical Paint Your Wagon. Mariah Carey was born on March 27, 1969, in Huntington, New York. Among her accolades are 5 Grammy Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 15 Billboard Music Awards, and 12 Guinness World Records. Carey is the highest-certified female artist in the United States and 10th overall, with 74 million certified album units. She holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles by a solo artist (19), a female songwriter (18), and a female producer (15), spending a record 91 weeks atop the chart. Billboard named her the top-charting female solo artist, based on both album and song chart success. She was ranked as the second greatest woman in music by VH1 in 2012 and the fifth greatest singer of all-time by Rolling Stone in 2023. Her subsequent ventures included roles in the films Precious (2009), The Butler (2013), A Christmas Melody (2015), and The Lego Batman Movie (2017), being an American Idol judge, starring in the docu-series Mariah's World, performing at multiple concert residencies, and publishing the memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey (2020).Ĭarey is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 220 million records sold worldwide, and is an inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress and the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame. Its second single, " We Belong Together", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 decade-end chart (2000s). After a comparatively unsuccessful period, Carey returned to the top of the charts with one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). She left Columbia in 2001 after eleven consecutive years of US number-one singles and signed a record deal with Virgin Records.įollowing Carey's highly publicized breakdown and the failure of the film Glitter (2001) and its soundtrack, Virgin bought out her contract and she signed with Island Records the following year. By the end of the 1990s, Billboard named her the most successful artist of the decade. After separating from Mottola, Carey adopted a new urban image and began incorporating hip-hop and R&B elements, with the release of Butterfly (1997). Carey gained worldwide success with the albums Music Box (1993) and Daydream (1995) ― both of which rank among the best-selling albums of all-time and spawned several hit singles, including " Hero", " Without You", " Fantasy", " Always Be My Baby" and " One Sweet Day", which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 decade-end chart (1990s). She is the only artist to date to have their first five singles reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, from " Vision of Love" to " Emotions". She has also been dubbed the " Queen of Christmas" for the enduring popularity of her holiday music, particularly the 1994 song " All I Want for Christmas Is You", which is the best-selling holiday song by a female artist of all-time.Ĭarey rose to fame in 1990 with her eponymous debut album under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, who Carey eventually married in 1993. An influential figure in popular music, Carey is credited for impacting the vocal style in contemporary music, merging hip-hop with pop music through her collaborations and popularizing the use of remixes. Referred to as the " Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is noted for her songwriting, five-octave vocal range, vocal improvisation skills, melismatic singing style and signature use of the whistle register. That means that once the first doublet has been placed, the next dominoes have to be placed adjacent to all four sides of the tile. This version must begin in a cross shape. It follows the same rules as block dominoes, but when a player doesn't have the right tile to move, they can pick up a sleeping tile. Other variations of dominoes The draw gameįor this game, two players would start with 7 dominoes, three players with 5 tiles, four players with 4 tiles and five players with 3 tiles. If both players get to the point where neither one can continue, the dots on their remaining tiles are counted and whichever player has the least amount of dominoes on their tiles wins. The game ends when one player is down to their last domino. A tile played to a double must also be placed accordingly - perpendicular to the double touching at its middle. Doubles are always placed cross-ways across the end of the chain. Unless the tile is a double, the tile is placed square in any one of the three directions as long as the two matching sides are touching fully. If a player plays a domino with the result that both ends of the chain show the same number, that player is said to have "stitched up" the ends.Įach tile must be placed so that the two matching ends are adjacent. If this domino can't be used either, add the domino to your pile and you skip your turn. If you can't play one of your dominoes, you can pick up a domino from the sleeping pile. You can only play a tile which has a number showing at one end that matches one of the numbers at the end of the domino chain. How to playĮach player must in turn then play a tile, positioning it so that it touches one end of the domino chain to add more length to the chain each time. If neither player holds a double, then the tiles are reshuffled and re-drawn. The tile played must be the double tile that allowed the player to take the first turn. The first person to play is the person holding the double-six, or failing that the double-five and so on. The amount of dominoes you draw depends on the amount of players in the game:įour or five players - start with 5 tiles each The remaining dominoes that are still faced down are termed "sleeping" tiles. It's best to play on a hard surface so that you can balance all your dominoes on the side with the value facing you. Once shuffled, each player draws their dominoes and places them so that the other players can't see their value. Turn all your dominoes faced down and shuffle by pushing them around the table. We have one box of newborns and we will go straight into size 1 after that thankfully the weight recommendations for the sizes overlap. Zoe was 9 lbs and we’re expecting Baby Surprise to be about the same. However, if babies in your family tend to land around 5-6 lbs then you may need more than one box. Based on the size of my first two at birth I wouldn’t recommend more that one box of newborns. This will also take a bit of guess work especially if you’re a first time mom. **I will be coming back to update these numbers once baby surprise arrives and starts dirtying ups some diapers.** I don’t remember Zoes diaper usage exactly but my best guess for the amount of time in certain size for the first year would be: Newborn: one box Size 1: 1-3 months (720 diapers) Size 2: 3-6 months (720 diapers) Size 3: 6-12 months (1440 diapers) Sometimes they use more per day in the early months and less as they get older but 8 is a good baseline. There is no magic number but babies use about 8 diapers a day ( about 2920 yr). My total pay out doesn’t factor in the number of Target gift cards and Kroger dollar off coupons I’ve received to use on future purchases.īuilding a Diaper Stockpile 101: How many diapers should you buy of each size? The retail value of all of the diapers I’ve purchased is $1063.45, however I’ve only spent about $315.01 out of my own pocket. To date I’ve purchased 3496 diapers in preparation for Baby Surprise, along with miscellaneous packs of over night training pants for Zoe girl. A new baby comes with tons of financial responsibility (*coughs childcare*) so I love saving where we can. Building a good stockpile requires time, patience and a little leg work to make sure you get the best bang for your buck. Couponing is something I enjoy doing outside of preparing for a new baby, so scoring big on baby savings is just an added bonus. To be clear building a diaper stockpile isn’t for every one. I did the same for Zoe and it saved us tons of money and countless trips to the grocery store. However, once we made the decision not to move to Cali (long story), I hit the ground running on building a diaper stockpile. We had a cross country move planned for this summer that kept me from going crazy with baby shopping. The count down to the arrival of Baby Surprise is getting real! Like seriously, we only have 8-9 weeks to go. Unit 11 HW Calendar.pdf Unit 11 - Surface Area & Volume of Spheres and Hemispheres Notes/HMWK.
